Updated 7/29/10 - 151A - The Battle is over!

President Obama signed the Financial Reform Bill on July 21. Additionally, the US District Court ruled to vacate SEC Rule 151A earlier this month.  This was an incredible victory for both consumers and the entire insurance industry.  This achievement is a tribute to everyone in the insurance industry binding together, working unselfishly for one common goal.  While this historic battle is over, what’s next?  While you stay focused on serving the needs of consumers, our industry groups will continue to diligently be an advocate of fixed annuity products.  We also ask you continue to educate regulators, legislators, consumers, members of the media, industry personnel and distributors about fixed annuities and their benefits to retirees and those planning retirement.
